Taken with the half meter Dobsonian and a Nikon 4500 digital camera. This is a composite of 4 single (unstacked) frames with exposure times of about 1/200th sec.

In the north (top) the Montes Apenninus sweep in a dramatic arc up from the terminator and are continued through by the Montes Caucasus.

To the right of those features can be seen about half of Mare Serenitas. The small, highly visible crater in this sea is Bessel from which can be seen rays.

The sea below the Appennines is Mare Vaporium and the very bright crater in this sea is Manilius.

The three prominent craters which stradle the centre of the terminator are Ptolemaeus, Alphonsus, and Arzachel.
